Crossing the border from Füssen, continue through the villages of Unter- and Oberpinswang, short climb across the Kniepass mountain pass through Pflach and on to the district capital of Reutte, from there uphill along the old Klausenweg trail, past the historically interesting Ehrenberg ruin. Entry into the "Zwischentoren" region on the cycling trail through the villages of Heiterwang and Bichlbach into the Lermoos basin (view of mount Zugspitze). Continue along the Loisach river and the historical "Prügelweg" trail to Biberwier, the end point of stage 1 (optional shuttle across the Fernpass mountain pass). From Biberwier along the Weißensee, partly on the historical Roman Road and along forest roads across Fernpass, past Fernsteinsee Castle to Nassereith. ATTENTION: Between Fernpass and Fernsteinsee partly steep, gravelly descent. Guardrail not always available. Push bike section for about 2 km to the Fernsteinsee Castle. The route continues through the scenic Gurgltal valley to Imst, from there along the Inn Valley Cycling Trail through the villages of Ried and Schönwies, past the Kronburg castle ridge through Zams to Landeck. From Landeck along the river Inn, view of the steppe slopes of Fliess, a natural gem (dry vegetation, about 1000 species of butterflies), continue along the river Inn to Prutz. From Ried you can enjoy views of the beautiful terraced landscape of Ladis, Fiss, Serfaus; continue through the "Climate Alliance Municipality" of Pfunds; from Kajetansbrücke bridge follow the less frequented route past the customs office at the Swiss border and on to Norbertshöhe. Possible rest stop and accommodation in Nauders; continue towards Reschenhöhen. TIP: Bike shuttle available after prior registration over Fernpass and Reschenpass mountain passes.
