Pontlatz Bridge

Show of freedom struggles

Fließ played an important role in the Tyrolean rebellion of 1809. The Pontlatz bridge was the scene of bloody fighting in 1703 and 1809 between Tyrolean militia and Bavarians, and the French. The bronze eagle, watching over the bridge and ready to pounce, was erected in 1904 as a reminder of the events at Pontlatz.
