Bike & Hike

From Prutz you start the tour to Kauns. Turn left before the "WILIBU", turn left at the next crossroads, then keep right and follow the Auchtweg to the hamlet of Goldegg. Alternating between tarmac and gravel, the winding route winds its way through further hamlets to the main road. After crossing the road, pass the Falpaus chapel on the right, turn left after approx. 1 km and then right shortly afterwards. On a forest road (you can make a short stop at the Schnadigen Weiher pond after approx. 0.5 km), the tour winds its way up to the Aifneralm in numerous hairpin bends, alternating between meadows and light woodland. 
Here you leave your bike and hike directly past the alpine pasture building and climb uphill over beautiful pastures surrounded by pine trees. The well-marked trail runs at a pleasant incline beyond the forest boundary and then follows a broad ridge, the Schweinleger. Here you reach a signpost and follow this in a southerly direction up to the Aifner Spitze (2,558 m). At the small cross, which is located on a large stone base, there is a wonderful view into the Kaunertal and across the Inntal valley as far as Switzerland.
The return journey follows the same route.
